Help & support
How can we help?
The answers below cover almost everything people write in about. If yours is not here, a real person reads every message sent to support.
Something happened that felt unsafe
Report the profile or the message from the menu on it, or write to us directly. Safety reports jump the queue and are read by a trained moderator, not a bot.
Getting started
Joining, choosing what kind of account you need, and filling a profile people will trust.
Do I need to be a working professional to join?
No. Klerifai has a general account for people who are around the industry but not working in it yet, and an industry account for people who are. You pick when you sign up, and you can be upgraded later without starting again.
Why does signing in ask for a code every time?
A password on its own is the weakest part of any account, and this industry has a real problem with impersonation. The code goes to the email address or phone number on the account. You can add an authenticator app in Settings, which is faster and works with no signal.
I am under 18. Can I have an account?
Yes, with a guardian. We email the address you give us and the account stays inactive until they approve it. Direct messaging stays switched off on accounts belonging to minors — that is not a setting anyone can change.
How complete does my profile need to be?
Enough that someone can tell what you do. A primary role, a location and a headline is the minimum that gets you into search results; portfolio work and confirmed credits are what get you contacted.
Verification and badges
What each badge means, and why none of them are for sale.
Can I pay for a verified badge?
No. A paid badge would tell you who has a card on file, which is not information anyone needs. Verification is an identity check through our vendor, and the badge follows the check.
What happens to my ID document?
We never receive it. Our vendor performs the check and returns a pass or fail plus a reference number, and the reference is all we store. There is no document library here to lose.
My company has a domain. Does that help?
Yes. A company account can verify its domain from the company profile page, which produces the verified company badge without an identity check on an individual.
Messages and connections
Who can reach you, and what to do when someone should not have.
Why can nobody message me?
Messaging is deliberately not open to everyone. Check Settings → Messaging: it controls whether people outside your connections can start a conversation with you at all. Accounts belonging to minors cannot use direct messages in either direction.
Someone is being inappropriate. What do I do?
Block them from the conversation or their profile, then report them. Blocking is immediate and silent — they are not told. Reporting sends the conversation to a moderator, and blocking someone does not stop us reading the report.
Account and security
Passwords, devices and getting back in.
I think someone else is using my account.
Go to Settings → Security. Change your password, then use "Sign out everywhere" to end every session, including any you did not start. You will be signed out here too and can sign back in straight away.
Why was I signed out on my other device?
Klerifai allows one active session at a time. Signing in somewhere new ends the previous one, which is what makes a stolen session short-lived.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, from Settings → Account. Completed bookings and the reviews attached to them stay on the record in anonymised form — a reputation that can be deleted after the fact is not a reputation.
Plans and billing
What a paid plan changes, and what it never will.
What do I get for upgrading?
Priority placement in search, unlimited direct messages and the analytics on your own profile. See the pricing page for the current comparison.
Does paying affect my badge or my reviews?
No, and it never will. Badges are earned through verification and reviews come from completed bookings. Both are outside the reach of a plan on purpose.
